Why I became a migration lawyer

I still clearly remember the afternoon I was walking home from school as usual. As I approached our apartment building, my mother threw open the window and called down to me, "We did it! We can move to Australia!" We spent the rest of that day being happy together. It was the culmination of months of waiting, alternating anxiety and hope. The knowledge that we could now start a new life together was a huge relief. I know how much people invest into the migration process. Years later my first ever visa client was granted Australian citizenship after I had been with them through the whole journey. I love the full circle of helping others to start a new life, after I got to start mine.
